Hotwire Website for airline, hotel, and rental cars (Error message 703)?

I tried booking a flight on this website, because I had found a great deal on an flight to my destination. However, once I finished booking the flight there was an error message stating "we're sorry, but your request did not go through system error 703". Hotwire didn't send me an email or anything, but I checked my bank account online and it says that I have a pending transaction from Hotwire. I tried calling customer service for Hotwire, and the guy told me that the company wouldn't charge me anything because it's the banks fault and not the company's. I was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation? I'm kind of nervous because I don't want them to charge me for a ticket and then I don't get my airline ticket.
