How do i fix the screen on my Samsung Instinct?

My friends and I were in the car yesterday and someone stole my phone and pulled the screen off and now when you put it back on the touch screen doesn't work at all or its way off. For example i'll click messages and it will go to the internet. How do i place it on there right so i'll be able to use it again?
