Why wont my computer let me view any images?

my comuter isnt letting me view any images on the internet. for example when im on facebook it wont show the emotions and come icons. when i got to google or youtube it wont let me view the banners (i guess thats what their called) all it will show is a big white box with a small red x in the top left hand corner. i need to know how to fix this
