If a return is made into the General Journal, does the sale that goes along with it also go into the GJ?

Just a little curious because my instructor said there needs to be 5 journal entries and I have 3. 2 of which are returns. I know the rest of the transactions are to be logged in special journals... So yea.. ASAP would be awesome :( kinda due tomorrow..
