Plausible alien biochemistry?

Since the main gas is ammonia, your critters are going to be dominated by nitrogen compounds. But the planet could easily have plenty of methane to give you carbon if you need it. Oxygen is still awfully useful when you want to start making chemical reactions and I don't know where you might come up with that, but maybe something sinister like chlorine could take its place.
